Wonder how flamenco and
belly dance are related?
It is obvious in the hand movements and some hip work, but really,
how are these two dance forms cousins?
The first gypsy tribes migrated westward, from India and Afghanistan
through Persia. Some went to Turkey and on into Europe. Others went
to Egypt, across North Africa, and reached Spain in an area called
Andalucía.

To this day, gypsies can be found wandering, traveling and
entertaining throughout the world. Music and dance are the elements
of their culture through which they pass on their history from
generation to generation.
To show your appreciation of the dancer, tipping is encouraged,
but not obligatory. As a tradition in the Middle East, the dancer is
showered with dollars. In the U.S., the tradition of respectively
placing a tip in her belt is the alternative.
